How Does Ultrasound Therapy Work?
First, we will apply a gel to the treatment area to reduce friction and discomfort while allowing better transmission of the ultrasound waves. Then, we will start moving the ultrasound device against the treatment area to conduct ultrasound waves to the tissues. The therapist will continue stroking the device for around ten minutes.
The ultrasound therapy should not be painful at all. You may feel heat and tingling sensation due to the repetitive stroking of the wand, but that’s all you should feel. If you feel any sort of pain during the process, you should inform your therapist immediately.
